JDH CAPITAL HAS PLENTY GOING ON IN GASTONIA

Developments at Hoffman Village, New Hope Crossing-
By Thomas J. Monigan -
Wow, February arrives by the end of this week, with Ash Wednesday on its heels.
Friday we were fortunate to meet with Alan Marshall, who once upon a time was involved with leasing at Abbey Plaza in Belmont.
These days Marshall is one of the major players at JDH Capital in Charlotte, and we’ll tell you plenty more about this man and the company he represents later this week.
For now, we’ll just remind you that you’ve read about Lowes Foods putting a gas station at Hoffman Village in Gastonia. And there’s a McDonald’s and Hickory Tavern coming there, too. That’s JDH Capital at work.
This company is also developing New Hope Crossing, where the new Food Lion opened late last year.
Well, there we can tell you coming attractions include Anytime Fitness, Lucky Cafe and TK Nails.
Anytime Fitness will be a health club operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
And yes, faithful readers, you’ll have to check back with us (likely Tuesday) for more details.
Elsewhere, we finally made a visit to Tequila’s Union Road location, which is in the Bi-Lo Shopping Center that Pearson Properties bought last year.
Owner Francisco Montes reports that this Tequila’s is starting Sunday hours today. Those hours will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. “with possible changes depending on demand."
In doing this, Tequila’s joins eateries such as Fiesta Margarita, which has been doing so well on Sundays.
Choice and competition are always good for consumers, and these are two competing teams that give it all they’ve got, every time out.
